I like to introduce my Auntie Aida. She's 64 years old, my maternal aunt and the eldest among 10 sibblings. She has 5 children, Arlene, Ariel, Armida, Arnulfo and Adeline. She also has 9 grandchildren.
Last year, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the throat. Around end of May 2010 she had to go home as she wanted to spend her remaining days with her family. With bald hair, tracheostomy and weakened body from chemotherapy, we thought we'd lost her in the next couple of months. Looking at this pic, we thought there's no more hope.
However, I checked on her yesterday and surprisingly she seems well enough as she looks like this:

I must say I was quite surprised. After series of events, I can't seem to imagine what keeps her alive and fighting. My family is quite a big brood of fighters. Most are strong willed. She's one of the many relatives who I see as an inspiration (only on the note of being strong-willed,other aspects let us put it aside).
I'm still thinking why are there so many diseases? I wanted to look for food or supplements that would somehow eliminate diseases or sickness. I am very curious why we get sick? Is it the food we eat, lifestyle, vices or things that we do each day?
I'm struggling with losing weight but more importantly, I wanted to know how to live longer.
