Did God hated unity?

I heard this weird line today..... "God doesn't want unity. This is the reason why he confused the people who were making the tower of Babel." I was left speechless and my mind was going around circles. It was quite challenging to have spoken with this woman from a church. Added to this strong declaration she continued saying that peace is not achievable this days. I am sincerely praying that people will be able to truly open their minds on achieving peace. It won't be an easy job but needs individual effort.
